Great food at great prices; the owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
MoreJust moved to the area and we love to support our locals. Hands down the muffins are great, gluten free is fabulous and the coffee is really good! Some staff are friendly, some not so much. But sandwiches, far over priced for very little food. Breakfast sandwiches are nothing special and less than average score. If I could add a pic I would of a disgusting few sliced beets with hot blue cheese dressing and this is today's "grilled cheese special" there's literally zero additional ingredients on this sandwich. It's not even a whole beet! Their vegetarian falafels are good but as a whole, I'd avoid the over priced food and stick to coffee and muffins.
MoreStopped in Nine Main Bakery and Deli for a Mocha Coffee and picked up a loaf of fresh baked sour dough bread. DELICIOUS! Crunchy crust with a nice moist inside. Will be making another trip back there for a sandwich for lunch. If you are in the area this is a must visit!
Moreover priced. they dont use gloves. this place is discusting !! dont go here
A welcoming and relaxing atmosphere with lots of windows and an open kitchen, serving a menu that will satisfy a sophisticated palate or your need for a morning coffee. Worth dropping in anytime you're hungry.
MoreTasty but too expensive for the amount of food you get
This location is convenient for us for a quick stop before/after hiking or during daily errands so we come here quite often. However, the staff are far from being nice or attentive every time we come. Not very welcoming. And they are making sandwiches in front of you and all the ingredients are pre-made and straight from the plastic containers in the fridge. That doesn't look very appetizing- just cold blobs. And they just put em between bread and serve it to you. EhhAnd I think they are over priced for the quality.
MoreNine Main is the only dining establishment in New Preston, CT. It is definitely welcoming and the baked goods and sandwiches are superb. I love going there for a cup of coffee and treats.
MoreIt's like walking into your favorite Aunt's home, warm, cozy and feels like your getting a good hug when you step foot inside. Start your day here or pop in for a midday meal to keep you going. It's OK to do it everyday!
MoreOverpriced and horrible. I ordered a Turkey grinder for 11 $ it literally had one slice of turkey and one slice of cheese . It was a mayo bread sandwich. When I approached the staff with my compliant they were arrogant and had a we cant do any wrong attitude who are you to criticize our food. instead of offering to fix my sandwich. i don't get this type of service ? How much would a few more slices of turkey cost them?. Don't waste you time or money ! not a deli at all
MoreExpensive is "ok" if you get a good portion. Quality is good and the place has charm and it's new preston, I get that, and expensive restaurants sometimes do the small portion thing, I get that too, but when a turkey sandwich on regular multi grain bread and a snapple comes to $16 +, at a DELI. I'm looking for more than 1/4 in of turkey. It's the second time it's happened and I'm not going back.
MoreGreat food and people.
The food is really good and the staff is nice and they are taking pains to have a safw environment
MoreFab place for sandwiches or breakfast. Better than average coffee.
Small menu of very good sandwiches. Specials board to the left of the counter, dont forget to check them out. Didnt try any of the bakery items but based on the amount of people going in and out they are very popular.
MoreAbsolutely a number 1 spot for breakfast and lunch.
The food and service is always excellent
Very good. Takes a while to get food made sometimes. Food excellent though.
We were in the area to fish Lake Waramaug but the weather wasn't cooperating so we spent some time in the "torest trap" town just before the lake. This place smelled nice but not really my scene. Seemed busy though so if you're into this sorta shop, might be worth a visit.
MoreNice ambiance and view of the falls across the street. I'll go back just for the bacon, egg, and cheese on their wonderful croisant.
MoreTasty, cozy, a little pricey
Best place for breakfast, lunch n Friday nite dinners. Whitney is a very creative chef, with new specials every day. Julie always has a smile on her face and a warm welcome hello, to patrons new and old. They are a great team!
MoreGreat service and delicious food. Everything was fresh, the staff was accommodating and friendly. There’s not a lot of seating but everyone was friendly and quite happy to share a table. The coffee was great and self service! Really loved this place and can’t wait to come back.
MoreThe new owners are typical New Englanders- not very friendly...therefore it lacks a certain charm that was once there. The food is still good, but they have since raised the prices; a muffin now costs ~$4!!
MoreThis is a perfect go-to spot to meet up with a friend for an indoor or outdoor cup of coffee.
MoreGood coffee, good breakfast, good sandwiches, beautiful setting. What else do you need?
MorePlace is awesome except for Chris. She's a pain in the ass. ;)
Breakfast special. Delicious! Fabulous muffins and assorted baked goods.
Delicious food. Vegan, vegetarian available and awesome choices. Prompt service and people are so nice. It's a very nice place and is even better in summer with places to eat outside! Beautiful views. You can purchase local honey and jams there too. In the summer you can take your food, walk across the street and eat at the picnic table there and enjoy the waterfall, which is AMAZING! And the prices are extremely reasonable.
MoreTerrific little place to grab a bite or a cup of coffee. Good atmosphere, friendly staff. It can get crowded on the weekend, but otherwise is easy to find a seat.
MoreThe eggs Benedict were to die for! My wife gets a "Waramaug" every day! Thanks for a good breakfast every day! And for the "Painted Rocks".😂😂😂
MoreGood food.Priced a little high
Brisket in a gyro is the best sandwich on the planet.
Great coffee and vegan options!
Very friendly staff. Prices are outrageous. This is highway robbery. At one instance I paid $9.00 for a small BLT sandwich. There may have been 2 slices of bacon in that sandwich. In fact, I was hungrier after I ate the sandwich. I figured I would give Nine Main a second try with another meal. One day for breakfast I ordered a breakfast burrito. I think there was more sausage sightings in the Magna Carta then in this burrito. Their prices have more mark-up than my research papers in college baby.
MoreGood but pricey
If you are gluten free this place is heaven- their home baked gluten free bread is outstanding. It's been a while but if I recall they can up their espresso drinks game but so can most of north west CT so I can't hold it against them. I go hear for fabulous food, great atmosphere, and kind people!
MoreThe 18hr brisket wrap was melt in your mouth and unsweetened ice team was just delicious.
MoreIs the best place to buy lunch
This is a great stop near the lake. They offer authentic homemade muffins, sandwiches, and the like. Friendly service and locally owned.
MoreBest cafe in CT offering GF options, friends claim the sandwiches here are the best they've ever had. We used to go to Arethusa a mano for lunch, now we just continue down the street to this gem. Friendly people, upscale shopping area within walking distance.
MoreGood food!!
Great food, not so great service.
been going there for years. loved the atmosphere and love sitting outside when the weather cooperates. but they give you nothing with your sandwich..a little pickle or cole slaw or chips would be nice. the can afford it with the prices they charge. and everything is extra. I ordered a tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato..even the lettuce was extra. Once they get that cheap, I move on. I haven't been back since and don't plan on doing so. Their loss.
MoreGood food just a little over priced.
The brisket gyro is a must have! So savory and delicious. We travel an hour every so often just to eat here. Choice of eating inside or at outdoor picnic tables.
MoreClosed during covid
Loved the food
Adorable and delicious
